Haywood Foundation for Arthritis Research

The Haywood Rheumatism Research & Development Foundation (HRRDF) is based at the Haywood Hospital in Burslem.  It works to develop and pilot new services for patients with rheumatoid arthritis including facilities for patients and carers.

It provides funds for research staff and equipment and has an enviable reputation amongst professionals for the quality and innovative nature of its work.  It has been at the forefront of many ground breaking initiatives including being the first Rheumatology Centre to develop computerised monitoring of drug treatments and the first in using drugs in combination to treat Rheumatoid Arthritis.  Gordon Banks OBE is the current president of the Foundation.
