Redferns Cottage is a beautiful 17th century timber framed town house and garden in the historic market town of Uttoxeter. With detailed period rooms from the Stuart, Vistorian and War eras as well as fascinating exhibitions about the towns and its past inhabitants. Francis Redfern, for example was a colourful character who wrote the ‘History and Antiquities of Uttoxeter’, he also made beer barrles, painted water colours and collected fossils.. The cottage is named after him because he lived there for over 50 years in the 1800s. The lovely courtyard garden is an oasis of calm, full of traditional cottage garden planting of flowers, trees and herbs. It is also free to use.
Opening times Tues – Fri 1-4pm and Saturday 11-4pm. Admissions £3 adults, £2 children, concessions. Members and kids free.
